niterói is blessed with many beaches facing the atlantic ocean, gorgeous and generally less crowded than rio's. being located directly across from rio, niterói enjoys one of the better views of the city, and for that reason, it may be one of the best spots where to enjoy flamengo's réveillon fireworks from a distance. this said, niterói also has its own parties and doesn't just look at rio to celebrate réveillon. the official réveillon party takes place praia de icaraí, one of the most famous beaches in niterói.
