facing the beach from the side, dona azelina's terrace has a clear view of the entire beach, the sugar loaf, and even niterói. this réveillon does not come at a budget price however, with tickets selling for up to 1000 reals per person.

in the nearby favela cantagalo, a small community home to about 5000 residents, the intimate réveillon at laje do miguel is a good option for anyone looking for a smaller event, a good, if not perfect, view of the fireworks, and a chance to learn more about this favela and its culture.

alternatively, on the opposite side of copacabana beach, on the leme side, the favelas babilônia and  chapéu mangueira offer a few options with a view of the show.
