genilson araújo had always dreamed of being a photographer, and one day he decided to unite his profession, and the views of unparalleled privilege which it afforded him, with a camera and his great ambition - while in the air he remained attentive not only to the cars, but to the daily life of the inhabitants of the city, the boats entering the guanabara bay, the arrivals and departures of planes, and even the smell of delicious food being prepared at restaurants.

in his photography he manages to capture rio's exuberance, with its rocky peaks, curvaceous coastline, unique landscapes and majestic bay - the great work is divided into four different visual themes such as nuvens (clouds), depicting the city from amidst its ethereal padding, terra (earth), opens with a lovely poem, and depicts the mountains, coast and waters,  cotidiano (everyday), documents the day to day occurrences and eccentricities of the city's inhabitants, including traffic accidents and houses on fire, luzes (lights), exhibits the sky, cityscape, and edifices bathed in multifarious light and colors.
