lumiar aventura was founded by young adventurers in 1990, and is an establishment centred on sporting events and  nature tourism in the mountainous region of Nova Friburgo - It was the first adventure tourism company around the city of lumiar and is considered a pioneering establishment in the market.

in the 1970s the area around lumiar became famous for hosting a number of communes - the region has a strong history of respecting nature and the environment. rafting, abseiling, waterfall trails, jeep tours, trekking, canoeing and tree climbing are all available with lumiar aventura. waterfalling is one of the most exciting activities available with the company and includes descending down a waterfall using canyoneering techniques and equipment.
