less than 100 miles east of rio de janeiro, and only about 15 miles west of búzios, cabo frio is a coastal town that has much to offer in terms of cultural events surrounding the visual, cinematic and culinary arts.

held in september, the festival internacional de dança de cabo frio (cabo frio international dance festival) recently completed its 10th edition, with more than 80 dance companies from all corners of brazil and the world coming to participate.

lasting six days, the festival is an opportunity for different troupes to compete according to their styles, including jazz, classical, contemporary, and freestyle, while also providing an environment for dancers, teachers, choreographers and aficionados to meet and exchange ideas.
