at a glance
'kombis', or the 20th century volkswagen vans, are commonly found at the bottom of most favelas, usually ones that are situated upon a hill, offering trips up and down the the uphill communities - alternatively one can walk up or take a moto taxi.

they have no particular stop, so the passenger can be dropped off where they please, preferably at  a curve where the kombi can stop - prices for these vans can vary, but when it comes time to pay is best to have small bills.

aside from these type of vans, used as a form of public transportation of everyday use, there are also mini van companies specializing and transfers to and from certain event, such as  xperiencerio, who specialize in carnival transfers, easily reachable via this email - musical events like rock in rio or other concerts that occur in venues not easily accessible by popular means of transportation, such as metrô or buses, often can be reached by these mini van companies.                arrow-back      arrow-forward
