the metrô service in rio de janeiro is small and simple, yet fast and pretty reliable - additionally there is a train company in existence in the marvelous city called supervia that offers services for an important percentage of residents who reside in the outskirts of rio.

supervia is responsible for running and operating local commuters to the extensive parts of the city, connecting mainly the northern area of the city with the metrô system downtown - these services are used mainly by those who are going to and from work.

connection to the suburban train network are made at their departing station which is called central do brasil, which can be accessed by taking the metrô to the station called central - there are five main train lines that are color coded based on their destination, consiting of deodoro (red), santa cruz (green), japeri (blue), belford roxo (violet), and saracuruna (orange).  arrow-back      arrow-forward
