Revista do Arquivo Geral da Cidade do Rio de Janeiro

Between 1894 and 1897, the Federal District Archives, predecessor to the Arquivo da Cidade, published a magazine with the name Revista do Archivo do Distrito Federal (Magazine of the Federal District Archive), a periodical which disseminated transcripts of documents and articles in the Archive collection.

The project was resumed in 1950, producing five volumes until 1954, relying at times on specific collaborations to gain greater breadth on selected topics in Rio's history.

The initiative was re-commenced in 2007 with the aim of disseminating collections of documents, as well as systematically gathering experts interested in the problems and issues faced by the city, in order to garner inter-disciplinary analysis, and expert material.
