it is based in rio de janeiro, and has two libraries in the city - the biblioteca acadêmica lúcio de mendonca, formerly the biblioteca acadêmica, which was founded at the time of inauguration of the academy, and the biblioteca rodolfo garcia, created in 2005 - together they form one of the largest public libraries in the state.
