from morro do leme, copacabana beach can be seen in all its carioca glory -there are often thousands of beachgoers playing football, volleyball, and foot-volley in the sun or swimming in the cooling waters. the beach stretches about 4 kilometers, and it is always nearly full to the brim with bustling crowds, so it certainly makes for interesting viewing.

parts of the calmer and smaller praia vermelha (red beach) in urce can also be viewed from up high, - it is the closest public beach to sugar loaf mountain (pão de açúcar).
