The Pedra do Pontal is a magnificent, imposing rock, cushioned on either side by Praia do Recreio and Praia da Macumba. It is connected to the mainland by a small, sandy path which can only be crossed at low tide.

From the mainland, the rock lends the landscape a striking visage and entices the adventurous to attempt its ascent. The trail is somewhat steep, but there is a lot of beautiful fauna and greenery to please the eye, and visitors can stop every now and again to soak up the beautiful views of the seafront, and inhale the fresh coastal air.
