quinta da boa vista, located in the traditional neighborhood of são cristóvão, is the garden of the são cristóvão palace, the residence of the imperial family from 1817 to 1889, before brazil became a republic. visiting the quinta da boa vista has been compared to taking a trip to the 19th century.
