founded in 1954, the museu chacara do céu, is part of the castro maya foundation. a significant portion of castro's own collection is on permanent exhibition in this museum.

the museu benjamin constant, located on rua monte alegre in the santa teresa neighborhood of rio de janeiro, was benjamin constant botelho de magalhãe's residence for the last two years of his life (1889-1891).
