flamengo beach is also often used as a viewing stage for important sporting and sailing events. the bicycle path connects flamengo beach to the nearby marina da glória and botafogo beach, making it one of the most visually stunning and rich exercise paths in the city.

there are some food vendors along the beach, but the larger kiosks are about 30 meters away from the sand, within the flamengo park.  surrounded by palm trees and grass, these kiosks offer refreshments and snacks as well as more substantial dishes, at a fraction of the cost of many kiosks along the more famous beaches.
