at a glance

in addition to the large number of trees in the park, ranging from 20 - 30 meters high, a floristic survey of the park recorded 218 different plant species living within. included in this are a number of different palm trees, as well as the ever-present range of beautiful bromeliads, that are native to the region.

whilst the trees and flora make the park a hub of vibrant color, the eclectic selection of exotic and rare animals, which are housed within, give the park its beating heart.

in a recent inventory of the fauna within the park, researchers found that there are at least 220 species of birds, 79 species of mammals, 38 species of reptiles, 12 species of amphibians, amongst countless insects and fish. some of the rarest and most iconic of these include the capuchin monkey, the raccoon, bush cats, pit vipers and green anacondas.arrow-back     arrow-forward
