lasting anywhere between one and a half to three hours, the hike takes participants along a two-kilometer path to the top of the highest peak in the parque estadual da serra da tiririca. along the journey there is a rich display of native flora and fauna to be observed, making it one of the most rewarding walks of the park.

once at the summit, there is a breathtaking 360-degree view, which includes some of the most iconic landmarks in rio, such as the sugar loaf mountain, the city beaches and christ the redeemer.

another popular hike is the more casual trail up the morro das andorinhas, for a light walk that is suitable for people of basically all ages and fitness levels.
