the trail takes hikers up a steady incline for 2.6 kilometers, until eventually reaching the  summit at an altitide of 196 meters, with an intriguing cave open for exploration at the top.  

we highly recommend all hikers to enjoy rio's mountain trails accompanied by an experienced and certified hiking guide.  in addition to the extra safety hiking guides can provide, professional guides are fluent in portuguese and would be indispensable in case of an emergency to communicate with rescue crews.
