beyond contributing to the characteristic panoramic views of the city, the mountains and hills of rio are particularly popular locations for hiking,  rock climbing, and eco trekking, with purpose built trails serpentining to their peaks. some of the most interesting trails include the hike up the dois irmãos, or the unique journey to the top of the morro da babilônia.
