at a glance

the park covers an extensive area of 8,251 hectares, which includes sandbanks, a large flooded area, known as the banhado da boa vista, the açu pond, and a long stretch of beach that is used as a breeding ground for sea turtles.

within these ecosystems, live some of the state's rarest and endangered species of flora and fauna, as well as native rainforest vegetation, and landing and nesting sites for a variety of migratory birds. whilst preservation of the existing ecosystems is the key of the park, it will also help promote a variety of recreational activities, such as canoeing and windsurfing, with the aim of building a sustainable economy to the region. arrow-back     arrow-forward
