the biodiversity within the park is one of the main attractions -  in fact, it is considered to have as rich or richer biodiversity than its local counter parts - the tijuca forest and the pedra branca park.   

included in the display are various rare species of flora, such as the pink jequitibá, as well as some of the favorite animal residents of the region, including pumas, and capuchin monkeys.

in addition to the vegetation and wildlife of the park, there are numerous geological sights, such as volcanic vents and springs, waterfalls and rivers, contributing to the parks outstanding beauty.
