at a glance

amongst the rich forestry of the parque estadual da serra da concórdia, there is a great diversity of flora and fauna, but additionally, the forest itself is at vastly varying stages of generation. the reason for this being the significant deforestation of the region, during the nineteenth century, that saw much of the land replaced by plantations and pastures. however, these were slowly abandoned, leaving the forest to regenerate alone, which has resulted in a great many stages of forestry, all in one place.

there is a rich array of intriguing wildlife within the park, which, adding to the mystery of the region, has yet to be fully explored, with many of the species still unknown. one of the most iconic animals in the park is the black hawk-eagle, which is famed for its size and striking appearance, whilst at least 37 species of mammals are known to join it, within the borders of the park. arrow-back     arrow-forward
