the rio mucuíba can be found in the neighborhood of vargem grande the west zone of rio de janeiro and is easily reached via the rua mucuíba. after reaching the beginning of the trial it only takes a brisk ten-minute walk before the first waterfall comes into view.

there are a few falls that tumble from the river's banks, many of which are particular favorites of cariocas, who often frequent the spots on the weekend with friends and family.
