orquestra sinfónica brasileira (brazilian symphony orchestra) is a pioneering ensemble, created in 1940 with their basis in rio de janeiro as well as counting with the support of the city's government - they were the first to  perform to an extended audience and in different locations, including but not limited to open-air venues.
