at a glance
reggae was developed in jamaica in the late 1960s - the term reggae is actually a particular musical style that came on the heels of ska and rocksteady - samba-reggae made reggae very popular in brazil and, as its name implies, it is a fusion of samba and reggae.

the music is both folkloric and poppy - reggae became so important to brazilians that they gave it its own national day - may 11, in commemoration of bob marley's birthday, the most famous reggae musician of all time.  arrow-back      arrow-forward
