near the left tip of the beach, pedra de itapuca can be seen - this historical rock, is a very popular spot for many beachgoers who dive from it.   

this rock is named with a tupi-guarani indigenous word, meaning 'rock with a hole,' due to the original shape of the rock before it was changed.
