praia das flexas also called praia das flechas, or beach of the arrows, is a beautiful beach located in niterói, near the center of town and just between the world famous niterói contemporary art museum  (mac)and the praia de icaraí.

about 400 meter long, some say the name of this beach is derived from the arrows used by the indigenous population in this region, others say the name is due to the abundance of a cotton-seed plant called 'flecha'.
