the restaurant 'a mineira' is one of the most popular restaurants on this beach, offering large portions and recipes typical of the nearby brazilian region minas gerais.  the japanese restaurant sunsaki is also quite popular here. 

on top of the nearby hill, near the far end of the beach, the church são francisco xavier adds to the charm of this area, and reminds its residents of the history of the area.
