at a glance | copacabana is home to lifeguard towers 2, 3, 4, and 5 - curiously, however, there is no lifeguard tower at posto 6, but just a kiosk named this way. despite the lack of lifeguard tower 6, this section of copacabana is nonetheless referred to as 'posto 6.' this area is next to the fort of copacabana and particularly well lit from all sides, as it receives lights from the side of the fort, from the street, and from the kiosks. among all beaches in the zona sul, posto 6 has the shortest distance between the water and the sidewalk, therefore making it the safest spot for swimming after dark. | beach attire | |||
