praia da urca is home to many night-life activities, ranging from local fishermen entering the water to set nets or to fish, athletes exercising, and people sitting along the small stone wall that borders the beach enjoying the views.

the water is shallow, there is no strong tide, and lots of light gets to the beach from the lamp posts on the adjacent road. many boats are stationed across from praia da urca, adding an element of aliveness and safety. because of all of the above, it is possible to go and enjoy the water of this beach after dark.
