from there, praia do meio, along with the other nearby wild beaches, can only be reached by hiking, or by boat - hiking takes about 3 hours to the farthest beach. when going by boat, water conditions do not always allow to disembark as waves can be quite strong at praia do meio.  

local hiking guides and/or small boats can be hired at praia barra de guaratiba - guides are recommended also because there are many turns on the trail that lead to rocks without any beach areas.

going form one beach from the others by walking along the coast on the rocks is dangerous, as the tides can change suddenly and the area is slippery, with no readily available medical help in case of accidents.
