once at the beach praia barra de guaratiba (also known as praia grande), praia do perigoso is only reachable via hiking or via small boats that can be found on location. the hiking trail, is also called caminho do perigoso, and starts on rua parlon siquera, the continuation of the promenade along praia barra de guaratiba. it is from this stretch of the trail to praia do perigoso that its is possible to see why the pedra da tartaruga (turtle's rock) is named this way.

hiking time to this beach is about 60 minutes, easy trail, but tennis shoes should be worn as the trail is not practical with flip-flops or sandals.
