there are several beaches in paquetá, all charming yet not always suitable for bathing. these beaches, in fact, are best for a relaxing day by the water, or to take a tour on the paddle boats. the two best beaches where to spend the day in paquetá are praia da moreninha, and praia josé bonifácio - where kiosks are found and cultural events are likely to take place. among the things to see in paquetá are the african tree maria gorda (fat maria), a baobá, that residents kiss for luck, and the pedra da moreninha, a rock near praia da moreninha, that gives a beautiful view of guanabara bay.
