at the lower end of the beach there is a path leading through some rugged coastal shrub lying between the mountains and the sea.

from here there are some fine sights such as morro da ilha, much of barra da tijuca, and the uninhabited ilha das palmas and ilha das peças.

the view of these islands, part of the archipelago of the tijucas, adds to the beauty of this beach.
