at a glance

although it only became a samba school in 1995, the g. r. e. s. arame de ricardo, or 'wire from ricardo', existed for most of the 20th century as a carnival bloc.

its home is the ricardo de albuquerque neighborhood, located in the northern tip of rio de janeiro.

it had its first parade in 1996, earning a respectful fourth place in the fifth division. unfortunately it didn't manage to improve on that result and in 2001 it had descended to the sixth.   arrow-back     arrow-forward
