the group then simply ceased to exist for half a century. but in 1990, due to the efforts from a few enthusiasts from the santo cristo neighborhood, in the center or rio de janeiro, the blue, red and white colors of this historical samba school were once again seen in the streets of the city.

albeit the intention is good, the revived vizinha has still to meet the same success of its earlier years.

currently, it remains in the fifth division - and the emblem of the vizinha faladora is a mermaid.
