currently, many chinese small traders operate successful commercial establishments in the center of rio, in the saara shopping district. today, whilst still not as popular as coffee, tea can be found in many locations around the city. there are numerous tea rooms dotted around, many of which are designed in an old european style, as well as specialty shops with a nice range of leaves. called chá da tarde (afternoon tea), tea can be enjoyed in just about any coffee shop in metropolitan rio de janeiro, each with its own selection of breads, sweets, and crčmes - however it does take on a different flavor when savored in a few special places. |
