Foreign attorneys are only allowed to act in rio as advisors for the legislation of the country where they are registered as lawyers - Adopting a politic of reciprocity, in the same way that Brazilian lawyers are not allowed to act as such in other countries, foreign attorneys do not have the right to advocate in Brazil.

Brazilian attorneys are very well trained and some have enough overseas training and experience to help and solve any problems that might occur, and early consultation together with planning in advance is likely to prevent conflicts locally and/or internationally.
