at a glance | As with the majority of Brazilian visas, except the work visa, visitors are not allowed to engage in any paid employment nor academic activities and the visa allows a stay for up to 90 days. for some countries, the visa can be renewed by the Federal Police (Polícia Federal) for another 90 days for a maximum of 180 days in a twelve month period. as the ability to extend the visa varies depending on the immigration laws in vigor within the visitor's country, visitors should not assume that tourist visas can be automatically be extended, rather they should check in advance with the Federal Police. |
