In 1959, the Centro de Reabilitação Nossa Senhora da Glória was founded, treating children with a wide variety of intellectual, learning, sensory and motor problems which slow and disrupt the development of their brain functions, including autism, down syndrome and epilepsy.

Now called Véras and located in Botafogo, the centre works to develop the neurological functioning of each child who seeks their guidance and support, also teaching parents about methods of improving and stimulating their children's mental capacities.

They currently provide full-time care, part-time courses, assessments and reassessments to 640 families, children and adolescents - VÉRAS can be contacted via email here or on the organization's website on this link.
