'My eyes are your eyes' is the guiding mantra behind Audioteca Sal & Luz, Audioteca Salt and Light, a non-profit library for audiobooks for the blind and visually impaired, which provides materials free of charge to over 1,700 members.

They have over 2,700 educational and vocational titles, aiming to ensure that each and every child is included in the cultural transmission of knowledge that reading enables.

It was first established in Rio in 1991 following an unsettling survey about the blind man's reality in Brazil.
