The Espaço Criança Esperança, ‘Children's Hope Space' was founded in Rio de Janeiro in 2001, providing full-time care and attention to more than 7,000 children and adolescents - They provide complementary school activities, in order to promote education, culture and inclusion and social development in Brazil.

The space is located in Morro do Cantagalo, in Copacabana and offers a range of different sports and cultural activities - The National Criança Esperança programme was founded by Globo TV in 1986 to raise awareness about children's rights and create projects to benefit children's futures from all areas of the country.

Once a year, a wide-scale live show is produced in which artists and celebrities advocate programmes and discuss central themes related to children's rights.
