the stated advantages of the
Minha
Casa Minha Vida program are
financial subsidies, reduced interest on payments, unemployment
insurance, up to 30 years of financing, quick credit approval,
and other concessional exemptions and discounts.
The
selection process is similar to that of the national lottery,
where eligible families may register to be included in a drawing
for the housing units which are available.
When a family is
selected, their documentation is approved and they can sign the
contract offering up to 10 years of financing - The property
value will not exceed the maximum of R$75,000 and the first
installment payment is due the month after the signing of the
contract.
Potential
beneficiaries apply by providing proof of income along with
proof that they do not own any other properties in Brazil, do
not receive any other housing benefits and do not currently
finance a property in their name.
