at a glance

The Minha Casa Minha Vida program is a federal program operated by a partnership between Caixa Econômica Federal and the federal, state and municipal governments - Rio de Janeiro was the first city in Brazil to join in 2009.

The program's core goal is to create affordable housing units for ownership by low-income families, working towards reducing the housing deficit that much of the population faces.

The program is coordinated by the Municipal Housing Department and prioritizes the provision of homes for resident families earning less than R$1,600 monthly while the program in whole provides housing assistance for families earning up to R$5,000 monthly - The program boasts covering up to 96% of the cost of home ownership.  arrow-back      arrow-forward
