In 2006 it opened a Brazilian office in Catete, Rio de Janeiro, which recruits professionals, raises funds and promotes communication as well as coordinating their volunteer program. - American Field Services Intercultura Brasil (AFS Intercultural Brazil) is an organization which provides intercultural learning through exchange programs. AFS was first created in the United State in the midst of World War 1 in 1914, with the core aim to broaden access to intercultural skills and language abilities, in the hopes of forming global citizens.

The Brazil branch opened in 1956 and has since sent and received around 12,000 students. The activities of the organization are based on the core value of peace, which is achieved through the principles of dignity, respect for differences, harmony, cross-cultural sensitivity and tolerance - those who are interested in volunteering with this organization can access the website to the AFS volunteer program here.arrow-back      arrow-forward
