at a glance

bordered by the guaratiba neighborhood, and a huge biological reserve, the bay is filled with picturesque tiny islands, and hemmed by some of the city's most alluring stretches of golden sands, which all host some of the rarest flora and fauna of the region.

home to a great number of little tropical islands, sepetiba bay is a popular spot to go on island hopping tours.

one of the most famous islands edging with sepetiba bay, but actually just past the metropolitan limits of rio, is the ilha de itacuruçá, which has a beautiful beach to enjoy, whilst further inland, small waterfalls and hills to explore.

there are many small islands in sepetiba bay, that have become locally popular spots to visit and do quiet fishing, and to get in touch with a calmer side of rio.                     arrow-back      arrow-forward
