the concrete structure, together with ilha da pescaria and the adjacent cape, make wall-like structures on each extreme of the beach, protecting it from the elements and giving it a very particular charm. 

from here one can clearly see the rocky island.  a short distance to the south, ilha do tatu (tatu's island) adds a dimension to the local landscape
