unfortunately these buildings were destroyed by the passing of time and nothing remained for posterity.  

pescaria island is less than ten kilometers away from an important brazilian institution, the national mint, known as 'casa da moeda,'  located in the neighborhood of santa cruz.    

inside this ten-kilometer radius it is also possible to find the jardian da saudade, to the east, in paciência, and the santa clara hill, to the southeast, in guaratiba.
