With the objective of studying the botanical gardens' touristic potential and relevance as a historical space, this work explores and recognizes the location's importance as a cultural heritage site in Brazilian history -  Analyses of infrastructure, investments and the conservation of historical and natural features were undertaken in order to outline a tourist route which emphasizes the Gardens' historic value and attractiveness.
