at a glance

Bars and restaurants lining the market put out chairs and tables so that people can bask in the sunshine and enjoy the festive atmosphere. A number of these establishments serve traditional Brazilian cuisine, such as Feijoada - a black bean and meat stew - fish and seafood platters, and excellently selected and prepared meat cuts, accompanied by the beloved Caipirinha cocktail.

The fair always plays host to an exceptional range of music and dance shows, both programmed and impromptu, while small kiosks and stalls sell drinks and food. There is perhaps nowhere more bright and vivacious to pass an afternoon and early evening than the buzzing streets of Lapa during the Feira Rio Antigo. arrow-back      arrow-forward
