Rio da Prata is still a largely rural sub-neighborhood, with several fields and small woodlands peppering the landscape. It contains a number of finerestaurants, such as the traditional Bar e Pizzeria do Chumbinho, and Casa da Dirce, or 'Dirce House', which is a smaller establishment located a short distance away. The region has lately become a gastronomic center, and a meeting place for atheletes who venture into the woods on trails. On weekends, the Largo do Rio da Prata, or 'Silver River Square' bustles with crowded bars and restaurants. There is a trail to the Parque Estadual da Pedra Branca, or 'Pedra Branca State Park', the largest urban forest in the world. In it is the Pico da Pedra Branco, or 'White Stone Peak', which is the highest point in Rio de Janeiro. | joá | |||
